The accordion hinge structure is a really versatile and unusual bookbinding structure, using folds and precise cuts. Through precise cutting and folding, you'll learn how to create a book that opens well, accommodates prints or items being added, and also allows the pages to be taken out and the order rearranged.

Led by a professional bookbinder, you’ll learn the skill of bookbinding, making a handbound journal that opens flat to take home with you.

You’ll learn:

• Preparing pages for binding

• Creating a hardcover for your book

• How to neatly fold a concertina - harder than you might think! 

• How to bind your pages using paper and not thread or glue

• Personalising with a gold or silver foil title
  
  You’ll be using high quality professional materials, and because we’re gathering in my studio you’ll have access to the full range of equipment, materials and tools. 

  Workshops run from 10am - 5pmish from my studio in Bridgeton in the East End of Glasgow. Close to train links, with plenty of free on street parking. Hope to see you there!
